This was my first Alexander Fullerton novel and I listened to it as an audio book It was set in Russia in 1919 and was the story of Bob Cowan, an officer in the Royal Navy sent to rescue two British nurses. The book s characters were very much of their time, with Bob Cowan displaying the stiff upper lip so prevalent in novels from this period however the tension was well developed and after an initially slow start the pace and action built up.I guessed from the plot that this was a sequel howeve This was my first Alexander Fullerton novel and I listened to it as an audio book It was set in Russia in 1919 and was the story of Bob Cowan, an officer in the Royal Navy sent to rescue two British nurses. The book s characters were very much of their time, with Bob Cowan displaying the stiff upper lip so prevalent in novels from this period however the tension was well developed and after an initially slow start the pace and action built up.I guessed from the plot that this was a sequel however it stood on it s own as a good book to read and gave some interesting insights into the history of that time.I would recommend to anyone who likes historical fiction action adventure
