So much research and detail went into this book that I felt like I was reading a true story Boggia s highly developed characters hit me emotionally, and felt real His highly descriptive settings, make you feel as though you have been transported back to ancient Rome I worried about the obstacle...

A bit lightweight I was disappointed with this story It could have been a very good tale of Roman repression in Judea but it became a rather sanitised version of history More ripping yarns than brutal Roman hegemony.

The one thing I was really left with when finishing this book was that the author really knows his stuff Officer of Rome had such a wealth of detail it was almost like reading a history book However sometimes I found the plot lacking, or rather missing opportunities When thinking about Rome automatically you think about battles and military strategy, this being a book about a Roman Centurion I felt it was lacking in the drama and conflict I would have expected. This book was very well written Th...
