I really enjoyed this book I appreciated the breakdown at the beginning, along with the science and studies involved in attempting this diet The fact that the back has a suggested menu, and ideas for holiday meals is pretty great too I did not try all of the recipes, but for the most part the ones I did attempt were really tasty I didn t love that almost everything savory involved onions since I can t eat them, but the author made it easy to substitute most problematic foods Great for anyon I really enjoyed this book I appreciated the breakdown at the beginning, along with the science and studies involved in attempting this diet The fact that the back has a suggested menu, and ideas for holiday meals is pretty great too I did not try all of the recipes, but for the most part the ones I did attempt were really tasty I didn t love that almost everything savory involved onions since I can t eat them, but the author made it easy to substitute most problematic foods Great for anyone who needs some new ideas recipes and who has food restrictions in their diet

As someone who suffers from Crohn s Disease, I found this to be that elusive book of simple, unadulterated food No weird ingredients, and a lot of nutrition. The recipes are easy, with just simple and fresh ingredients I can eat pretty much everything in this book. The Butternut Squash Soup is a favorite now I found this one by accident in my library and then bought it It will be in my kitchen for a long time

I was discouraged by many contradictions in the introductory discussion of what foods are inflammatory and anti inflammatory and the lack of definitive sources to support the categories Then I found some glaring errors in some of the recipes So, while I appreciated the effort to provide an anti inflammatory approach that was also gluten free, I decided this book wasn t reliable enough to be the basis for any changes I might make.

Kudos to Leslie for taking on the oh so complicated low histamine issue and pairing it down into concrete food ideas A few other diets were lumped in which made it a bitrestrictive than perhaps it could have been ie low gluten
