Theology books can be daunting, but I appreciate that this book considered the liturgy of our worship as the premise for what we believe theologically or what have been the theological stances throughout history that have shaped how we worship primarily through the order of worship and the aspects of our worship services, keeping in mind various denominations practice different liturgies in varying degrees It was a great historical theological overview However, the treasure of this book is th Theology books can be daunting, but I appreciate that this book considered the liturgy of our worship as the premise for what we believe theologically or what have been the theological stances throughout history that have shaped how we worship primarily through the order of worship and the aspects of our worship services, keeping in mind various denominations practice different liturgies in varying degrees It was a great historical theological overview However, the treasure of this book is the way it addresses how Christians should live as aliens in a foreign land Meaning, we live by a new culture, language, and Kingdom worldview This doesn t take us out of the world, or mean we should isolate ourselves from living within creation, but that we should look, act, and express ourselves as a biblical community in a new way that ushers in a lasting Kingdom and draws others into worship with us I believe this is a very relevant and necessary message for our present age and saving grace for the Church as a whole Our liturgy and how we worship shapes our theology and transforms us as well as those we interact with This challenges us to consider what liturgical habits we have, what we believe and how to engage with our neighbors

This is an excellent and genius way to introduce theology by following a church liturgy
