Interventions to increase physical activity

This survey looked at interventions which had been tested and evaluated with a view to increasing levels of physical activity in a population.

The literature included in this survey was found through a PubMed search - full details of the methodology used to compile this survey including search terms and inclusion/exclusion criteria can be found in the Method document available for download below.

Types of intervention most frequently studied

The bubble chart to the left shows the most commonly studied interventions. Of all the intervention methods covered within the survey results, pedometer was the most commonly studied intervention.
