The Lancet Obesity Series Launch

The Lancet Obesity Series contains the following papers:


On 26 August 2011 the National Heart Forum, will host in collaboration with the Lancet, the launch of the first ever Lancet Obesity series published prior to the Global UN Summit on NCDS at an all day conference the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Keppel Street, London WC1E 7HT.

The event will feature a number of leading experts on obesity from the UK, US and Australia including Professors Klim McPherson University of Oxford, Steve Gortmaker, Harvard University, Boyd Swinburn Deakin University and Head of the WHO Collaborating centre on Child Obesity and Martin Mckee from LSHTM,  as well as  Susan Jebb, MRC Human Nutrition Research, Cambridge and Chair, DH Expert Advisory Group on Obesity Bob Kaplan,  Director of the Office of Behavioral and Social Science Research at the National Institutes of Health(US),  Kevin Hall NIH(US), Claire Wang, Columbia University and  Lancet editor Richard Horton.

The event is free but pre-registration is essential as space is limited.

Getting to the event

If you are travelling by train, the nearest tube stations are Goodge Street on the Northern Line and Russell Square on the Piccadilly Line. Euston, Euston Square and Warren Street tube stations are also within walking distance.
